Quality Assurance

We have selectively used artificial insemination to enhance existing bloodlines with suitably matched genetics to add vigour and diversity to our herd. Consistent quality breeding and the introduction of semen from selected bloodlines have seen the Carlton herd grow steadily and continual overall improvement. In 1996 we introduced BreedPlan. Carlton Stud has achieved MN2 Bovine Johne's Status and more recently joined the Cattle Care program. Competing in carcass competitions has been one way that Carlton has evaluated the traits we are breeding into our cattle. Carlton has competed in the Royal Adelaide Show and State competitions, walking away with several prizes for our grass and grain-fed steers.
